My Friends are Dead?

So in order to teach high school students the dangers of drinking and driving, especially during prom, OCHSA decided to go all out.

Crashing a car and staging a 911 rescue routine?

Very nice.

Killing off my friends to make me see what it's like to not have them around anymore?

Not nice.

I like my friends alive and well, thank you.

pull you pants up.

Now, at OCHSA, we don't have standard PE classes and we dont have awkward uniforms. However, my friends in other schools do.
I was talking to my best friend, Max, and he was telling me about his experience in PE last week. He said that after they had changed, they were waiting for their teacher and while they were waiting, someone came up behind him and pulled his shorts down.
Well, this would usually be no big deal since it happens virtually everyday. However, this was different. In addition to his pants coming down, the perpetrator also got ahold og his boxers and pulled them down as well, leaving him naked from the waist down.
Could you imagine being naked from the waist down? that would be super awkward. I think that i would die of embarassment.
Thank god that that type of stuff doesn't really happen at OCHSA, or i think that i would be dead by now.

Awkward Elevator Ecounter.

I was in my Literature class last week, nothing special. We were talking about some research paper that we had to write when my teacher asks if I wouldn't mind running an errand for her (something about booking the computer lab to do some research, I think). Of course, just like any other bored student, I jumped at the opportunity to leave class. So I grabbed my friend and left.

Now, my Lit class is on the third floor and the computer lab in in the next building, so to get there, we would have to take the stairs. I hate stairs. They are a creation from hell, sent here to try and kill us all! (literally). I try to avoid taking them whenever possible. If I get caught on the elevator without a pass, it would be way worth it. At least I wouldn't have had to take the stairs.

So, it being the middle of class, there was no one around and so I figured why not take the elevator now? And so we did.

Taking the elevator down was not a problem, there was no one around and it was great.
However, as we were taking the elevator back up, I really didn't want to go back to class. So we went to the seventh floor and pushed all the buttons (which was fun because buttons are the greatest!) so that we would stop on every floor to waste time.

We got two floors down before a teacher got on. She stood in one of the corners, looking at some papers. So we continued, stopping on each floor, no one getting on, no one getting off. I would have thought for sure that she would catch on and get mad but she didn't say a thing.

Finally, we got back to the third floor and walked off the elevator in silence, thanking God that we didn't get caught.

Concert tickets in Theatre Lit.

I was in my theatre lit class yesterday when something very unusual happened (go figure.) It seemed like a normal day, just like how every other awkward story starts out, but of course, it wasn't.
We were about to start class when a group of three Seniors behind me raised their hands. They started off by saying that they were trying to get concert tickets, but they were all sold out. Our teacher asks how this has anything to do with anything and they continued by asking if they could call a radio station at a specific time to try and win tickets to this concert. This alone was weird.

Of course, you would expect our teacher to say no and go on with class. But no. This is high school and so anything goes, there are no rules.
Our teacher said that the girl's could call when they needed to as long as they were quiet and respectful during class. So all through class, the girls were as quiet as could be.

Then came time for them to call the radio station. This was probably the funniest thing i have seen in a very long time. One girl called and just when they anwsered, the girl dropped the phone and the station hung up.

I find this ironic. I would have felt bad if i weren't laughing so hard. Oh high school! how you always seem to catch me off guard!

Senior prank (funny)

We've all heard of senior pranks either from your parents or from friends. So we all know that they can go one of two ways, either really bad and not funny at all, or really really funny funny and perfect. It really depends on the nature of the prank and how well you pull it off. Some pranks require a lot of preperation and thought, some do not.

My friend told me a story about her dad's senior prank. This one just so happened to have gone really well, and it was really funny.
So, my friends dad took autoshop in high school (back when autoshop was still acceptable in school) and he was really good at it. He knew all there was to know about cars. So two weeks before school ended, him and a couple of his friends disassembled a car, took the parts up to the roof, and reassembled it.
The next day, everyone was confused at the car on the roof and no one knew how to get it down. It was going really well until the administration figured out that someone in autoshop must have had something to do with it.
Eventually, the principal found out and they were caught. However, the principal was so amazed at the nature of the prank that he decided not to give out punishments other than hving them take down the car.

Senior pranks are amazing. Especially when they have a lot of thought and preperation put into them. The whole point is to have fun, make memories, and maybe piss a few people off. Bonus points if you don't get caught!

WHY?!

High school may be an incredibly scary place but there are times when really funny things happen. What makes funny moments funny in high school is the pure randomness of it. You never know what's gonna happen next and you never know why.
For example, during tests.
I was in Biology yesterday taking a chapter test, totally bored. The whole room was painfully silent. I finished my test, turned it in, and started on my homework. Everyone else was pretty much almost finished and class was almost over. Nothing special was expected to happen. Then again, in high school, you must expect the unexpected.
All of a sudden, a guy three seats to my left raises his hand and the teacher calls on him. He then proceeds, very loudly, to ask if he can blow his nose, completely serious.
the teacher looks at him with a stupid expression and slowly says that he may.
Then, instead of going to get a tissue to blow his nose, he grabs a piece of lined paper from his bag and blows his nose into it.

High School is amazing.

The whole class erupts into a chorus of "ewws" and "whys." After the initial disgusted feeling, the whole class started laughing. Our teacher could not stop laughing and fell on the floor, shaking.

High school is very unexpected, you see things that you never thought you would see ever in your lifetime. The students have such a vivid imagination that, combined with other immature students and angst, can be a pretty amazing mixture. High school never ceases to amaze, and scare, me.

Stairs of Death

Those of you who go to a school with seven floors know that to get to any of those floors, you have to take the dreaded stairs. Not only are the stairs incredibly inconvenient and hurtful, they also provide a way for students to hurt each other and not get caught.
You see, students fall down the stairs all the time, we're a clumsy bunch. However, sometimes, students push others down the stairs and act like it had nothing to do with them. It kinda sucks.
This morning, I was making my morning journey to the sixth floor, as always. Not many people were in the stairwell as it was a little early. It was pretty much a typical morning, slow and tiring. I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary.
However, When I got to the fourth floor, I saw two seniors and a freshman (go figure) arguing over something. the freshman was standing two stairs from the seniors, looking scared. I decided to stay back and watch as I really had nothing else to do. Eventually, the argument got a little heated and then one of the two seniors pushed the freshman backwards down the stairs. He rolled sideways and landed by my feet (I was standing at the bottom of the stairs). Once the freshman came to a stop, the seniors continued walking up the stairs without a second look, laughing all the way. Initially, I was shocked and horrified. How could someone do that? No matter how angry and worked up you get, you should never take those feelings out on another person by hurting them, it's disrespectful and wrong. I bent down and asked if the freshman was okay. He sat up and looked dazed and a little scared. He sat there for a few minutes and eventually got up and walked down the stairs, not without thanking me for my concern.
For the rest of the day, I was annoyed at the ignorance of not only seniors but of all kids. Did they not know that he could have gotten badly hurt? I mean, what was the point of pushing him down the stairs? Was there any personal gain to it? I just think that it's really wrong and extrmely rude.
However, the fact that he thanked me for being concerned did not escape me. I was surprised that even after he had gotten pushed down the stairs, he was able to find it in him to thank me. I mean, all I did was ask if he was ok. I guess that eventhough high school students can be horrible, inconsiderate douche bags, some of us are still able to decifer the difference between right and wrong. It's kind of refreshing to know that some kids are still considerate.
Anyway, the stairs are a necessary evil, there's no way to avoid them. Unless you take the elevator and risk getting in trouble. It's your choice.

(I do not condone breaking school rules to use the elevator...ok yes i do, but only if your running late to class...or if you just don't wanna take the stairs (: )

High school is crazy. The kids aren't nice at all and it seems as if they have no limits to what they'll do. Some high schools are better than others but no matter what, crazy stuff happens. A friend of mine told me a story about a friend she has at another high school. Apparently, some seniors decided to have some fun with a couple freshman. (why almost every story involves freshman and seniors, i have no idea). So the seniors tied the freshman to a tree and forced them to sing "I'm a Little Tea Cup" in order to get untied. It seems like this should be in a movie and not on an actual school campus but the reality is, these types of things happen all the time. I guess freshman are just easy targets but it happens to almost everyone. Whenever i would see these things in movies, i would always think "What?! NO! this isn't right high school is going to be fun and exciting!" one year later..... When i finally got to high school, i was shocked and confused. I thought that everyone would be nice and helpful but no. No, not at all. People are cruel and vicious in high school.
Well, i guess it's not ALL bad. High school can be a lot of fun sometimes. There are so many funny moments and fun experiences, nothing like middle school. In middle school, everyone would usually stick to their own group of friends and mind their own business. but in high school, everyone's involved in everything and there's almost like this need to be the most popular or to be the coolest. Maybe that's why there's so many bullying issues.
To be completely honest, i haven't been bullied all to much so i'm kinda nervous for the rest of high school. Maybe if i'm lucky, mean people will leave me alone and i'll be able to make it out of high school alive :)....................maybe.
